King Krule is Archy Marshall, an 18-year-old from south-east London who spends his time creating the kind of music that doesn't belong to an easily defined genre — a blend where it's equally feasible to hear the influence of Gene Vincent, Fela Kuti, Billy Bragg, Morrissey, or Joe Strummer. Still dwelling under his musical nom de plume Zoo Kid, the flame-haired teenager dropped his eponymous 9-track EP in 2010, featuring production work from Kwes. As King Krule, Marshall released 6 Feet Beneath the Moon on True Panther, a 14-track album showcasing his deep, mournful baritone and contemplative lyrics.
